Grows best in an average to moist, well-drained soil, in dappled to full shade. It will also tolerate a dry shady area, provided the soil has good nutrient levels. Easy-care perennial, spreading by rhizomes to form colonies.

Native to many parts of Europe, and invasive in Ontario. All parts of the plant may cause severe discomfort if ingested. Consider using Polygonatum biflorum instead of the non-native P. multiflorum.
