Growing Tips & Maintenance
- Grows best in full sun, in a dry to average, or poor soil, a quality that makes it an exceptional rock garden plant. It can be propagated by seed, division or cutting. Cut or mow off spent flowers to keep the plant neat and tidy. This perennial spreads by stolons to form an attractive ground cover.
Additional Notes
- Native to eastern USLarval host for American Lady Butterflies and the flowers provide pollen for early-season bees and flies. Seeds are enjoyed by ruffed grouse and quail.
