Growing Tips & Maintenance
- Grows best in a rich, moist to average soil, in partial to full shade. Tolerates full sun, provided moisture is available. Turns brown quickly if it dries out. Established colonies can spread in dry or rocky soils.
Additional Notes
- Native to OntarioNot a significant food source, but provides cover for small mammals because deer and rabbits avoid it. Releasing allelopathic toxins, it slows or prevents germination of other plants.
