Growing Tips & Maintenance
- Grows best in rich moist soils in partial shade. Aggressive native groundcover perfect for reducing erosion and repopulating woodland areas where invasive plants have been removed. Not really suitable for small gardens. Plants sometimes go dormant in mid-summer.
Note
Additional Notes
- Native to Ontario Larval host for native moths. Many species of insects, including bees, visit Virginia Waterleaf; but some bees are specialists: Andrena geranii and Nomada hydrophylli visit Hydrophyllum species exclusively.
