- Grows best in a moist to wet soil, in full sun. Spreading by rhizomes and above-ground runners, this plant can be weedy or aggressive.

- Native to OntarioA hybrid cross between M. aquatica x M. spicata. Peppermint oils are used in flavouring chewing gum, toothpaste and mouthwash. It is also used for culinary and medicinal purposes and in fragrances. The flowers produce nectar and pollen, attracting bees, butterflies, and other insects. The fragrant foliage attracts beneficial insects, while theoretically repelling small rodents and mosquitoes.
