  • Grows best in a fertile, average to moist, well-drained soil, in full sun to full shade and is extremely drought-tolerant, once established. Boston ivy may take up to 2 years to become established and start climbing on its own. Pruning to keep this plant within its bounds can be done in the fall.

  • One to watch: Not yet listed as invasive in Ontario, Parthenocissus tricuspidata 'Veitchii' is an aggressive non-native creeper. Consider a native creeper such as Parthenocissus quinquefolia for similar conditions.
