Growing Tips & Maintenance
- Phlox divaricata grows best in an average to moist, well-drained soil, in dappled shade. Provide good air circulation when choosing a location for this species to reduce the potential of powdery mildew. Cut back after flowering to encourage fresh growth and a tidier habit.
Additional Notes
- Native to OntarioLarval host for Spotted Straw and Olive Arches moths. Early-season source of pollen and nectar for long-tongued butterflies and bees. An excellent alternative to the invasive Vinca minor.
