Growing Tips & Maintenance
- Purple-leaf sand cherry grows best in a semi-dry, fertile soil, transplanting easily, and tolerating a wide range of soil types and conditions. Prune down by 30 cm, late spring, every few years, to maintain a fresh look. Though they can survive in partial shade, foliage will fade towards green without the sun. They can be grafted onto stems to create tree forms with small heads, or as multi-stemmed plants shaped into topiary.
